Interior enthusiasts could already indulge themselves with all the wonderful home content on the online platform Sundae. But now there is also the Sundae House: its own renovation project. For this adventure, Sundae called in Furnified to provide the Sundae house with a warm, stylish decoration with an art deco touch.
You probably know Sundae as a blog full of feasible living ideas and inspiring living stories. Here you can find eye-catching interiors, the latest living trends and practical tips to get started yourself. But founder Eline Rousseau also had renovation plans herself. Inspired by the popularity of TV shows about building and remodeling, she embarked on her own remodeling adventure. The idea is to renovate a house every year and to show online how it works. Sundae works together with reliable, inspiring and high-quality Belgian brands – including Furnified. 'One by one, our partners are top brands with a passion for the profession. We are therefore very proud and grateful that they are joining this unique online renovation story," says Sundae.
Get to work
Sundae's first construction project is located in the Pieter de Coninckstraat in Antwerp. According to Eline's vision, this house from the 1940s should become a modern home with warmth and cosiness from the past. The last 8 months there has been a lot of work and renovation in the house. Readers of the blog were able to follow, among other things, how the floors were laid, the windows placed, how the cabinets were chosen to size and the kitchen was installed. And then it was time for the interior! For stylish furniture, Eline visited the Furnified showroom in Antwerp, where she was shown around and advised by Furnified's Lauren. The choice of furniture had already been made in advance, but here Eline could see and feel them in real life, so that she would be completely sure.
Art deco furniture
For the Sundae House, Eline went in search of nice furniture for the sitting and dining room. Warm, stylish and art deco were the keywords. For the dining room, the choice fell on the green 'Cédric' chairs , the Scandinavian 'Oskar' oak sideboard and the straight dining table 'Carrara white marble' . For the sitting room, Eline went for the 'Gordon' leather sofa in cognac , the leather armchair 'George' also in cognac, the ceramic coffee table 'Richard' (calacatta white ceramic) and the delightful relax chair 'Ruben' in retro black cane . As far as Sundae is concerned, this furniture really radiates art deco. 'The velvet chairs are very soft, the seats are comfortable.' The choice fell on green dining room chairs because green is more common in the home and gives the interior a playful touch. The sideboard and lounge chair have a vintage vibe and the dining and coffee table are very classy, according to Sundae. We couldn't agree more!
